Window shopping on Etsy today I came across some beautiful little handmade dresses. I checked out the seamstress's profile and read an interview with her. What a nice life. Arielle St. Lawrence (she even has a nice last name!) supports herself with her sewing business…she gets to set her own hours, let her creativity take her where it will, and see other people enjoy the fruits of her labors. Many "jobs" used to be like this, but now most office jobs have drifted away into this blank, lonely, senseless world of endless emails, protocols, and counting the minutes until you can leave the freeze of the air conditioning. So Arielle, if you are reading this, congratulations to you. I think you have carved out a very cozy place for yourself in the world—all the rest of us are jealous.
