& how you
comprehend the thing you are meant
to be looking
now & you are weighing something, you are out under the sky
trying to feel
-from Summer Solstice by Jorie Graham
I know I posted this already, but I like to read it over and over. I like to read this whole book over and over. I don’t rewatch movies. I don’t reread novels. It’s funny because I could; the story would be new to me, my memory is that bad, but I never want to. Poetry though, I cannot read enough times. I can read poems I like until I know the lines, until they live inside me, and still I return to the words on paper to look again. To feel my eyes pause again at each turn, each perfect line break. To say again, yes, exactly, that.
